SIBUR is a Russian petrochemicals leader. We are well positioned for long-term growth in domestic and export markets. We produce a wide range of materials used in automobiles, consumer products, technology hardware, construction, manufacturing, infrastructure and nearly every aspect of everyday life. SIBUR’s petrochemical products comprise four product groups: basic polymers, synthetic rubbers, plastics and organic synthesis products, as well as intermediates and other chemicals.
As of 31 December 2015, SIBUR's basic polymers production capacity was 1,005,000 tonnes per annum(1), synthetic rubbers production capacity was 562,300 tonnes per annum and plastics and products of organic synthesis production capacity was 1,089,350 tonnes per annum.
We have opportunities for growth in the Russian market as domestic production displaces imports and the use of petrochemical materials increases towards global levels. Our new world-class integrated petrochemical complex in Western Siberia is a major next step in our strategy to monetise SIBUR’s reliable, low-cost feedstock advantage and become one of the most competitive petrochemicals producers globally.
In 2015, our petrochemicals segment gross revenue(2) totalled RR 187,733 million, or 44.4% of SIBUR’s total gross revenue. The segment’s EBITDA contribution amounted to RR 58,937 million in 2015, for an EBITDA margin of 31.4%. The segment employed approximately 12,830 people as of 31 December 2015.
